The vineyards of southern France have been relatively free from vinous regulations and controls and are seen by many as being the „New World“ of France with varietally-labelled wines of international recognition. However, locally grow, and in some cases indigenous varietals continue tob e enjoyed by the local people and holidaymakers enthused by the prospect of a taste of „la vraie France“.
